How can we count boat launches automatically?
BoatSight uses a camera view of the launch area to count boats heading out and returning. Those counts feed an interactive dashboard, giving your team a view of activity across connected locations. The camera position and counting area are checked for each ramp.
Can we see how many boats are still out?
BoatSight estimates boats still out from launches and returns at a monitored ramp. A useful estimate needs a known starting count and coverage of the relevant movements. Boats using other access points, overnight trips, missed events, and camera outages can affect it. It is not a lake-wide vessel census or a way to locate individual boats.
Can we monitor several boat ramps in one dashboard?
Yes. The interactive dashboard brings live counts and traffic from all integrated ramps, docks, and parking lots into one place. Your team can check each connected location and review launches, returns, and busy periods.
Can we use cameras we already have?
An existing camera may be suitable. Share its model and a short sample of footage so Ark CV can check the view, image quality, and access to the video. Compatibility is confirmed for your site before setup; not every camera or position will be a fit.
What power and internet connection are required?
Live reporting needs power for the camera and processing equipment, plus a working data connection. The right arrangement depends on what is already at your ramp. Ark CV reviews power, network access, and coverage with you before recommending equipment or a connection plan.
How are boat counts checked for accuracy?
Counts should be compared with a manual review of the same footage, including launches and returns during busy and quiet periods. Glare, darkness, overlapping boats, and interruptions need separate attention. Ark CV works with your team to check site counts; a BoatSight accuracy percentage should be tied to a documented test at the relevant site.
What happens when a camera loses its connection?
A disconnected location cannot provide current live updates. A gap in coverage must not be treated as zero activity. Recording, recovery, and backfill options depend on the camera and site setup and should be confirmed before installation.
